Not enough stall. 3000 would work best.So a 2800-3200 is the right one.

How much are you looking to spend? Precision industries makes a great vigilante converter which is a 9.5\" converter that works for th350-400 and powerglide. They are 600 though. Try a TCI if you don\'t have that kind of coin.I have been told to stay away from B&M. Check out Jegs.

As the stall and performance of a converter increases, the converter itself will get smaller. The smaller the mass = more power or less power lost to rotating mass. Also, if you go with a 3000 stall, get a good tranny cooler, they are 49 bucks from JEGs.

You are set as far as cooling and if you get a 10\" converter, your tranny fluid capacity will go down so a deep pan is not a bad idea, I got a B&M pan with 3 quarts extra fluid capacity for cheap. My tranny with 2 coolers, a deep pan and 3200 stall and going 110mph down the highway has only hit 175 farenheit once.

I say no because that is too much for your application, and would not be streetable.

i have a deep pan, but i can\'t use it now, since my truck is bodydropped and lays frame.. so i\'m stuck with the stock pan. but I rly don\'t know which i need, i\'m looking for one under 200$ but is there any reason why i shouldn\'t use the one i have now?

If a converter isn\'t loose enough for the motor, the motor will not work proper, and will not idle good or at all.

i wouldnt go any bigger than a 3K, also, you may call the Manufacturer of your cam and ask them what the flash point of your specific cam would be. its always better to be on the under side of the flash so you hav e power when you hit it.

2700-3000 is perfect

i would say that 2500 would be the best rpm for that convertor... i have the same cam in my truck and it is a Edelbrock RPM cam, they recomend a 2500 rpm stall.... the best bet is to call up the cam manufacturer or the convertor manufacturer and ask them.

advertised would make that a pretty small cam and 3000 would be way too high! if it is @ .050 then i would def recommend getting the 2500.... best bet is to call the cam company that made the cam! or call up a convertor place, they will not steer you wrong

I called the cam company... for my cam they recommend a 2500stall convertor.. I have a 2,000-2300 stall now... will that hurt anything to keep the one I have? Thx... whuts the exact use of a stall convertor?

i wouldnt bother getting a 2500 stall, my cam recomended a 2500 for mine and i was fine with an 1800! i did get a 2500 though because i cracked my trans case and had it out..... it really isnt worth all the work and money to just do a convertor. i would run it as it is and it will be fine. the main use of a high stall convertor is for the track. it will allow you to rev the engine at the line without the convertor locking up and making you move, that way you are in your power band at the line and will get a better launch... if you have the stock rear and want to keep the thing from breaking, i would keep the convertor..... especially if you arent gonna be at the track alot, it will not help you any on the street!

Thank you.. thats pretty much whut my dad said.. but I didn\'t wanna listen... so he got mad at me.. heh. Thanks. Yeah, this is basically a minitruck, its bagged and bodydropped so... I just wannat ake it to the track like once and see whut it runs. Thank You
