The problem I have right now is that I have small exhaust. See, the S15 was v8 when I bought it and I have been going through it a part at a time and making it the way I want it. When I bought it, it had (and still has) 2 1/4 exhaust on it. I went to the muffler shop and they said that something must be done with the crossmember because the pipe goes over it and there isn\'t enough room for a larger diameter. How are you guys running your exhaust? Any suggestions? I want atleast a 2 1/2 system.

my headers came with either 1 7/8\" or 2\" collectors. i replaced these with 2.5 and ran that all the way back. i ran the drivers side over the crossmember and then i made an h-pipe that connects the two right after the tranny. i then just put 2 flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber mufflers with down spouts. it dumps right before the axle. i did it all using madrel bends from my local auto parts store. i did it this way because no one in maine was a madrel bending machine.

Im running 2 1/4 dual exhaust on my 1987 4x4 on a 355 with a small cam and flat top pistons.
The part that really sucked was i got the exhaust custom bent by a friend. I only went with 2 1/4 because i had a stock 305 in it at the time. Well the shop is about 45 minutes from my house and i wasnt even half way home from having the exhaust done, when i lost all my oil and the motor started to sieze. I had really wished to have gotten 2 1/2 but the 2 1/4 seems to be ok, with only cats and no mufflers it isnt really restrictive.

first i put in a fuel cell in my bed...than i cut a piece of angle iron and welded it to the drivers side on top of the cross member and than i cut the bottom part out....i have 3in pipes on mine with flowmasters...seems to work fine

build you cross member so that the xhaust can go through it.I bridged mine over to make room for the dual 3\" into a single 4\".I have since finished the 4\" all the way out the back.
