Ok, I think I may have just found my resolution to finding the right transmission. I\'ve been looking for an NV3500 for some time now at a decent phttp://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/smileJap.gif and I spotted one for under $200. Now, I\'m willing to jump on it IF it\'s the one that will work with my truck.

This NV3500 came out of a 2001 S10 4.3L 4X4 pickup. Is this the same transmission as the ones in the earlier 90-93 S10 4.3\'s that was mentioned in the JTR manual?? I really need to know if this is gonna work or not because I have to have it shipped and I can\'t risk making a big mistake. I know the full sized pickups used one too but those took some small fabrications, if this is the same thing as the earlier S10 NV350\'s then I found myself a deal. Oh and also, this was out of a 4x4, my truck is 2wd so will this make any difference? Please help!

IF YOU HAVE A 2WD TRUCK YOU WILL NEED A 2WD TRANS..

the trans case is totally diffetrent for a 4x4 than a 2wd... they have absalutely not tailhousing... nowhere to put a driveshaft, but i\'m nto sure if you can just opt a tailshaft on it

I meant that I have a 2wd one. That one is a 4wd. Wont work.

im not sure about the nv but most 4wd transmissions dont have a tailshaft because the tcase bolts in place of the tailshaft. if you can find a tailshaft to put on it then you probably have a damned good deal

NO, the 4x4 tranny will not work!! nv\'s are a one piece case you can not find a tail for it.
