I need a rearend for higher gears, what do i take it out of?

Hello, i have an 83 s10, had a 2.8v6 in it with stock tranny, changed that into a 30 over 350 engine with holley 750 carb with hedman headers, with a turbo 350 tranny. I still have the stock rearend and I want to get one with higher gears because it rides normally at too high of an rpm , what would i take the rear end out of? a 4 wheel drive blazer maybe? thanks

You have to identify what gears you have first. Then, fine one with numerically lower gears. You can\'t just find any one from a truck or blazer. Stock, it could have anything from like a 3.08 gear to 4.10\'s

I have a 87 that had the 2.8,its a 4x4 and it came with 3.73 gears.

So i would find out what you have then either get another axle with lower number, or im sure you can just gears for you truck and just do a gear swap.
