Speedometer needle is jumping...

like crazy. I just hooked up my mechanical autometer phantom speedo and ran a new lokar cable to the 700r4. The higher the speed the more it jumps. I am thinking the tranny speedo gear needs to be changed. any help?

How does the cable fit? Any sharp bends? Sometimes a bend can cause the cable to \"whip\" instead of turning smoothly.

I do have some bends but thought they where not to sharp but I will look again this afternoon. Thanks

mine did that then broke. pulled out cable and it was all frayed. was to close to exhaust and had a tight bend or two in it
