Crate engine performance

I was just wondering if anyone has ever bought a crate engine, dropped it in, and dynoed it only to find out that the actual power was less than what the company wanted you to believe. If so what engine was it who made it? While I\'m on the topic who do you think makes the best crate engines? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/burnout.gif

I\'ve seen most all of the GM crate motors dynoed, sb, and BB chevys. All made advertised power, less a few of the BB\'s. Few of them made a lot more.

Keep in mind the motors are usually dynoed

at the crank and theres always loss through the drivetrain to the wheels
