View Full Version : Headers that fit
I\'m desperate here, I can\'t find any headers that fit without major sparkplug interference and I don\'t want to spend big money on custom made . Heres my set-up : 1985 S-10 Blazer 2wd with a 383 stroker , stealth mounts and Pro-Topline 23 Aluminum Lightning heads . Heres what I\'ve tried : Advance Adapters(2 styles), Sanderson C-12 , Patriot . And I called Hooker and Hedman and they said theirs would not fit either . I\'m willing to do some minor mods on them then have them coated . I\'d like a 1-3/4 primary tube . Help , this things been down since the end of march . http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
We are currently working on the headers to fit all angle plug heads, they are not ready yet, but are coming very soon.

Knowing what Mike just indicated, that the proper headers will soon be available, why don\'t you try the cheapie $99 Hedman\'s (1-1/2\"), hack, beat, and ding them up as needed, and hope the proper headers become available soon. And/or, knowing it\'s temporary, try the Accel Shortie plugs.
.......... Couple years ago I had a different header \"problem\", I did exactly what I mentioned above, except in my case, the damned Hedman\'s FIT! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif But it worked out just fine until my nice, shiny, coated Sanderson\'s got sorted out.

These heads I have now are straight plug not angle plug . That was the reason I bought them . Before I had Dart Iron eagle 180 Angle Plug heads and I switched to the Pro Topline because they are aluminum and straight plug . I was having problems with the Dart heads . It seems all the headers are designed around the factory style heads . These heads I have now have the exhaust ports raised slightly and the sparkplug angle is rolled . Causing the #1 cylinder primary tube to interfere with #3,5,7 sparkplugs . If the #1 primary tube was dropped down more there would be no problems on this side . Theres tons of room , theres nothing below this area . Right now I\'m bolting on the intake (Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap) .

hey DCJ DO YOU HAVE EXCESS TO A WELDER? IF YOU COULD GET SOME J OR 180 DEG BENDS FROM EITHER STAHL OR JEGS OR SUMMIT. YOU CAN CUT THE SECTIONS THAT NEED TO BE MOVED AND TAC IN OR WELD THE NEW SECTION IN. I\'M IN EVANSVILLE,IN SO IF YOU JUST TACED THEM TOGETHER I COULD TAKE THEM TO MY WORK AND TIG THEM TOGETHER. CHECK OUT MY HEADERS IN THE IN PROGRESS GALLERY PAGE 8 OR SO . DA JIMMY
No, I don\'t have a welder. I appreciate the offer though . Maybe I\'ll try a cheapy set for now until the other ones come out like Mike had mentioned .
