I saw this on eBay motors: heads (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7908663121 )
i heard that the 906 casting is not as good as the 062 casting...also i heard that adding a 2.02 valve to the vortec does not increase the flow of the heads...any of this true?

i didn\'t think 2.02 valves would fit, but apparently they do... tri-state cylinder heads is where i just bought my Pro Topline vortecs... all the money they spent machining those GM vortecs i\'m sure was way more than just buying the pro toplines... $583 at my door with springs specific for my cam. only took like 3 days.

tri state cylinder head sucks, they trashed a set of my alum. LT-1 heads.cut the seats uneven and sand blasted throuh the intake to push rod area where its very thin on a set of perfectly clean heads

The heads are the same, that rumor has been debunked. Chevy hi performance started it, but then later took it back.

906 or 062, both are good heads, I have heard that the flow picked up from larger valves on Vortecs isnt much at all, which makes it a big expence for not many results

the 906 heads had problems off the line with the exhaust valve seat. get the seats replaced and a little bowl work and they will be fine. as far as opening up the valve size, it dont help much at all. the vortec heads out of the box will out flow the old bowtie heads.

sumit and scoggin dickey use the 062 castings. the larger lift setup is useing the z28 spring upgrade. the castings on my blazer are the 906 but i got them for free(before the vortec was so popular) and had the worked for the blazer\'s 400cu.

Does it make any difference which head when it comes to leaking? I had heard that the vortec heads had a lot of water leaks.

Also GMPP used to sell vortecs with the 4 additional holes for the 87-94 intakes. How can you run those manifolds when the port shape is so different? Besides wouldn\'t you lose any improvement because the manifold would then be the restrictive area?
