Hi everyone, im new to the forum, i have an 86 s10 with a 5 speed, the engine is blown, and i am considering doing a v8 conversion, i know i will need motor mounts, radiatoir, starter, etc.. but as far as transmission goes, i would like to keep the 5 speed, rather than go to a turbo350. The bellhousing for the 2.8 obviously wont fit a chevy small block, so would i be able to take the bellhousing from a 4.3l s10, and bolt it on to mine? also, i would probably need a different clutch. what clutch would be good for this. Thanks

Search some past threads. There was no 4.3 S10 with a T5, they all had NV3500 which has an integral bell. You can try to find an Astro 4.3 T5 bell, or make a camaro bell fit, which will require redrilling.

I use almost what you ask for the tranny. I used a 78 malibu bell-housing. I had the corner filled so I could use the pivot and hydrlics from the 84 sblazer set-up. The input shaft needs to be cut a little. So does the throw out bearings shaft. The input shaft for the t-4/5 is 14 spline. They do sell a already modifey input shaft witch should \'bolt in\", that would use the 10\" 11 spline disc.
If you loook at my pics I do have one that show the linkage on the side of the tranny, Not a great pic though. 2 wheel and 4 wheel are different but the front of the trannys are the same.
