Pulled the motor to start my cam and intake swap. Need to clearance the pushrod slot for the 1.6 RR\'s, so I figured I\'d just pull the heads too. Probably be easier to swap the vavle springs this way too.

Most of the motors I\'ve pulled apart had something wrong with them. IMO, she looks good, considering the beating I\'ve given it. I don\'t have a lot of experience in assembling, this is actually my first cam swap.

So, motor experts, how does she look?

looks great, but where did all the oil come from on the deck of the block? Also wat kind of pistons are those? Can you scrape that carbon off the pistons, so we can see the numbers on there?

Motor looks like it needs the hell run out of it just for good measure. I`m wondering what brand valve covers those are I have an old v8 emblem off of an Impala that has crossed flags valve covers similar would be nice

Looks good. I like those late model blocks, it is what I have in mine. No need for a cam button or expensive style roller lifters with the bars. Just a top when assembling- lots of oil and keep it clean and free from moisture. Assembly lube on the cam and all the bearings, and I usually dip the timing chain, rockers, lifters and pistons with rings in a can of oil. The cranks and blocks will flash with rust very quickly if they are not covered with a thin film of oil.

Heads are L98 vette heads. Piston are stock Gm hyper pistons. Valve covers are aftermarket. I don\'t remember which brand.

I\'d guess the motors got 30-40K miles on it.
