Newb Tranny question

If i get a built turbo350 tranny, will there be a day and night difference as far as performance and hp goes. Right now im just running a stock 700r4 and i dont know if i need to upgrade my sb400 first or go ahead and get a better tranny.

I don\'t know how \'bad\' or \'good\' your tranny seems to be but, if your asking it must not feel that strong. The main differance is a good trans will use the power to turn the drive shaft.

A good strong tranny will make a tired under powered oil burning 305 feel like a new built 350. A weak auto tranny will allow the torque of the engine to be absorbed or wasted inside the converter and tranny assemblies.

I just dont feel like im getting all the power out of my motor like i should be, although my motor is basicly stock is probably the main reason right now. Im going to add some upgrades to it and get a built tranny and see what happens.

I don\'t like to recomend replacing expensive parts because they do feel right, but if it is acting \'weak\' than you may wnat to upgrade to a built tranny. Chances are the \'old\' tranny is probulbly still usabable. If you had another car inwich to put it in, it would probubly be fine as a normal everyday transportation car item.
