has anyone else ran true duals on their truck? Here is my plan let me know what you think. i plan on coming out of the headers (sanderson 1 1/2 headers) and going straight back. One tube on each side of the transmission. the passenger side will be easy since the exhaust is already run there. on the passenger side the 700R4 shift linkage is kinda in the way but i can go below that and i can move the fuel lines out of the way since they run across and up the side of the tranny. Then i am going to run a small Cat converter and the smaller flowmaster muffler(which is 9 inches long) then dump it out of the sides where the bed meets the cab on my extended cab truck. Has anyone else done this before?

that might be annoyingly loud in your interior

Simialer. Headers, down pipes bent to go through holes cut into frame rails. Along outside of the body with 2 1/2 universal cats, Thrush tube open mufflers and elbows- 90\'s. I also had the body flared so you didn\'t see the exhaust on the outside of the frame rail.

As for the holes in the frame rails, I cut 3\" holes and welded in a 3 \" round tube and cut it flush with the frame. It alsmost looked like it could have been there from the factory almost.

The noise was alot! The sound resonated through those resonators something wicked. It sounded great, but cruising for 1/2 hour was deafing.

im running true duals on mine thru a pair of 40 series. i dumped the exhaust out behind the doors. its really not intrusively loud inside, youll definately hear it tho. i love the sound of mine.

LOUD -GOOD! MUFFLERS- BAD! I had a similiar set up on my other s1o which exited right behind each rear wheel-it causes a lot of HUMMING from the flowmasters chambering.Still was quiet in the cab though-now I am running long tube headers bolted directly to cherry bombs period...theres no sneaking away in this thing....but what a great pro street rumble. Its loud but not obnoxious-perhaps the neighbors don\'t agree-I would ask them if i could hear them.

i ran duals. passsenger side straight through. driver side is tight to the trans cross member, and i cross over at the tailshaft, and works good. i bent all my own, 2/14 stainless, cut offs from arvins, for vette exhaust. no muffler, no cat, no inspections in the great state of indiana!

I have dual 2.5\" 40 series with pipes in the stock location (behind pass rear wheel) and no cats, and it is too loud! Not bad for the first 5-10 mins, but cruising is horrible. Terrible resonance, I\'m going to try a different muffler and see how that works.

on the drivers side what did you do with the fuel lines? did you run over or under the tranny crossmember? How did you hang the exhuast up? i will probally run my cat then right after the cat run my mufflers then dump out side. I wouldnt run cats but i need to pass emissions here plus you dont lose much power through the high flow ones, only a few HP

ok well i changed my mind on the true duals. it would be to much work. what about if i run 2 1/2 inch t exhaust how it is now across under the tranny into a y pipe that turns into 3 inch through the cat then muffler then get a muffler with two outputs and run two 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch tail pipes. Is there anyways i can bend the pipe myself? i dont really have the money for an exhaust shop to do it.

you would have to have some type of pipe bender, but if you want to make it easier, and you dont care about having dual exit, just run a 3\" all the way out. you may be able to find a prebent pipe for the s-10 in a 3\" but then again im not sure....

i\'d like to do that but have it come out in front of the rear wheels

im dumping out behind the wheels. i want to have dual pipes exit out even if it isnt true duals

I\'ve got true duals...that\'s what came with the L31 thru the cats. The driver\'s side pipe takes a sharp turn just in front of the bellhousing, then sharp back into dual cats located just below the back of the cab on the passenger side. That is 2\" all the way...totally stock...no choice to get it legal in California. From the cats I opened them up to 2.5, thru a pair of Summit turbo mufflers, then both out just behind the right rear wheel. I bought the Summits because they were cheap, but now I really like them. They are just loud enough.

On my 82 S10: Not running headers, still manifold exhaust; the drivers side almost 90s in front of the bellhousing, right after the torque converter, then meets up with the passenger pipe, no cats in SC!, each pipe running into it\'s own flowmaster muffler that\'s tucked up together snug as bug, then exiting out behind each rear wheel. Would like to have them straight out but so much fun hearing your exhaust set off parked cars alarms! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif P.S. 2 3/4in. all the way...

im goind 2.5 from my sanderson headers into a 3in flowmaster y pipe. then im running 3 inch throuhg the cat then to a flowmaster muffler. then im dropping back down to 2.5 and going out the back. I have to keep it this way for emission btu i dont really mind. it wont hust power that much if at all
