Are there any S-10 V-8 4X4 headers that use anything better than a flat insert gasket, I\'m looking for something like a dount system....

Mine leak like hell and I even have Percy\'s Dead in there.

What headers do you have?

You could measure the diameter of the inside of the collector. Intall a cone shaped connector pipe in place of the center pipes collector and buy a rounded flange insert gasket. Since the new gasket will be beveled, Instead of bolting the flanges solid, Use a spring kit.

Basicly a gasket simialer to the oe desgin and spring kit, found on most full size c/k pickups and others should work I would think.

I plan on doing the same thing once I install the new headers I bought from ebay.

I presume you\'re talking about the collector end? I\'m thinking that if you\'ve got major leak problems there, it\'s because of a misalignment of your exhaust system, and/or, your engine is hopping around. How\'s the motor mounts? But yeah, a donut system might help.

i had the same problem and i took my headers off and made a trip to the local exhaust shop and had them cut off the slip ring flang and weld on a 3/8 flange and i have never had a problem since hope this helps you

My Sanderson short conversion headers came with a donut style. I bought them off a guy that had them a long time but never used them. I expected the normal flange, but they have donuts and a non welded 3 bolt flange. They work well and you can hook up the exhaust pipes at a slight angle if you need to and they will still seal. They don\'t have a part no. on them or I would give it to you.

Flomaster sells the parts needed to elininate those crappy flat gaskets. You can see good pictures of what I\'m talking about in Jeg\'s and Summit mail order catalogs. I\'m seriously considering doing the same thing, but I hate to destroy the Jet-Hot coating. I really think this will work though. I also have Percy\'s aluminum 3 bolt gaskets and they still leak. Look in the headers/exhaust section of the cat. good luck, Lee
