Ok heres my problem.

I have a 1987 s10 blazer 4x4 with a 355 small block and 31\" tires.

I broke a leaf in the back from too much axle wrap. no problem had it fixed now i have done it again, one leaf on either side is broken. My dad said if i got traction bars it would help, or i could just be lighter on the gas, being 20 years old with a 355v8 with a 700r4 and 3.73 gears its not likely im gona be easy on the gas.

I still take care of my truck but i like to have with it.

Anyhow, anyone else got ideas, i thought traction bars on a 4x4 is kinda tacky but if it helps i do it.

On my Bronco II with a 351 I got single bars coming from the axle up to the frame on both sides.

I studied the compression of the rear springs for about half an hour before deciding on the length and angle the bars would go.

I have rotating sockets on the ends of mine so they will rotate to the side a bit when I get the truck off center or stuff a 35\" tire into the wheel well going over something.

Hope this helps it works great and cost next to nothing.

Last night weiting I couldn\'t think of the right word.

(rotating socket = heim joint like on three point hitches on tractors)
