I bought some of that duplicolor plastic paint that is specially for plastic, vinyl, etc. I started off by painting my pillar pieces. My orig interio is beige and i\'m going black. The paint seems to work really good, it went on nicely and covered nicely. I\'m letting it dry for a good day before i put back into the truck. The can says it will be crack/scratch free after 7 days.

I\'m going to wait for a week to see if it works well, and then will try painting my door panels.

Anyways, so far, i think the paint is pretty good, i\'ve tried other paints for similar applications and they didn\'t seem to work very well, but so far so good. If i find that it doesn\'t hold up, i will post and let those know if anyone is interested in trying this stuff. It\'s also relatively cheap at the local hardware store.

Cheers!

I\'ve used that brand before. The offer both paint and dye.

The most important thing to do when using this products is preperation.

Clean all parts with mild soapy water and a soft bristle brush. Air dry. Then clean them with rubbing alcohol and the soft bristol brush. Air dry. Then clean them again with the rubbing alchol and a paper towel. Do this several times more.

Then once you think there clean enough clean it one last time.

Then procede to coat them with many light coats. This allows the color to \'soak\' into the plastic or vinyl.

I know this sounds like overkill. But it works and seems to last longer this way.

This is the same way I have done a few color change projects. The dye for my ta cost me $125. for 1 quart of color matched dye! I had to make sure it was done properly!

Space.

Actually, i used brake cleaner to clean the surfaces off. It works really well.

I put one side in and it went in ok, the other side i bent slightly and a small piece of paint chipped off. I am going to repaint that spot and let sit. I don\'t think the pieces are completely cured yet though, so that might have been the reason. Trial and Error i guess though.
