ok im down to the last bit on my motor but i ran into a problem. i have a harmonic balancer that i put on but that came from a v belt set up. will this balancer work with my 4.3 brackets and accesssories? or should i use the balancer off of my 4.3.

im also having a problem with my holley street anenger carb. when i mount it on my edelbrock performer intake the trottle will not open all the way. On the passenger side of the motor the throttle stop for how far it closes hits the manifold. i order a standard bore the spread bore adapter. will that fix my problem?

I don\'t understand the carb thing..... which is spread bore, carb, or manifold? Both?

the carb is standard. the performer intake is spread bore. also does anyone know what the size a 92 S10 factory fuel lines are?

Regarding the adapter, if it\'s interfering with the carb secondary linkage slightly, just take a file to the adapter in the offending area. If it\'s interfering in a major way, punt. Best NOT to mess with the linkage.

the linkage is hitting the intake. i dont have the adapter yet im about to order one. it the throttle stop on the passenger side of the carb. its the side where the vacuum secondary is at. not the side where you attach the cables. when you open the trottle the stop hits one of the runners on the intake. so i was going to order the adapter to raise the carb up alittle to make it clear. i figured that if i have to order a spacer it may as well be the adapter. it on this side of the carb http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSC/f0-80670.html but you cant see it because it is behind the choke.

what it hits is the EGR area on the passenger side of the edelbrock intake

Back to your original question.
The OEM balancer is designed for a specific engine. It dampens vibrations at a specific frequency. No problem, tho. The front of all of the GM sbc and 4.3 dampners that I have seen from the 80\'s or 90\'s will take either type pulley.
The Edelbrock performer manifold is a dual pattern manifold designed to take both square and spreadbore carbs. You would probably save a little $ by just using a square bore
carb spacer. Don\'t forget hood clearance. Use the shortest one that will work. Some of the phenolic and wood (yes wood) spacers also isolate the carb from the manifold heat. There are gaskets that run 1/4 to 1/2 in thick that you could look into. Jegs carries a special plate specifically for putting square bore carbs on a dual pattern manifold. They don\'t say how thick it is. It\'s only $6 -#350-2732.
Lots of choices.

thanks man. i bought the plate to go from spead bore to square bore like you mentioned. I dont know why the carb is hitting the EGR passage but the spacer should make it clear. I am worried about hood space but i think i can pull it off. if not i will be getting a cowl hood pretty soon. im going to try the balancer and if it is to long i am going to pull the one of my 4.3 and put it on my 350. If the pulley is to long do they make a serpintine pully that is shorter?

Use the 350 balancer with the 4.3 pulley. This will allow you th use the rest of the 4.3 brackets and accesorys.

if your building a new motor always put a new balancer on. you always want to make sure that that new motor stays as balance as it can be. a good balancer ir only around 70.00 well worth the money. that is just how i feel good luck.

The main feed is 3/8 and the return line is 5/16.

thanks for the replies guys. I have started my 350 swap and i should have the 4.3 out tomorrow and i will take some pics. I reused the 350 harmonic balancer since it only had like 20,000 on it.
