Fan shroud

Iwould just like to get some Ideas about fan shrouds. Can not decide what I want it to look like. I am going for a very clean look. I want to get as many suggestions as poss. along with pics to help me on my way, and on that way I thought it would help out the rest of the guys. I was going to buy the shroud from JTR. but after I ordered it they called and said it was no longer availible. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif

Ebay has a univerasal fan shrowd. My father in law bought one for his 51 merc. It attachs to the rad with the plastic pull through clips. I think he paid @ 20 + shipping. It was either stanless or chrrome polished -either way it ws shinny.

but that only takes advantage of PART of the radiator right? i want my shroud to draw air from the WHOLE radiator, not just a small section...... hmm.

Yes you are corect. BUT, it will pull air through the rad and not \'AROUND\' the rad because the air \'has to\' go through the rad to get to the fan.

Besides at highway speeds, the air gets pushed through the rad across the full unit anyways.

oh hey i have another question. i see you guys are using taurus radiators and fans....what years taurus should i look for to get one of these? i don\'t think my cooling system is adequate.

The taurs rad I am running is a dual core from a 95, I think. I haven\'t seen one like it on any of the cars that have came into the shop though. My father-in-law gave it to me because the pins in the bottom couldn\'t be modified enough to fit his 46 merc. His wife had a 95 taurs, That I\'m sure it didn\'t come from though.

AS for fans I run a 17 flex w/3 inch spacer. I am also using a 10\" pusher for when the rad is blocked with the snow plow. Otherwise I don\' t have a hot running problems.

I made my own fan shroud on the first truck, there should be some pics of it in my gallery. It cooled better with the shroud and engine driven fan than it did with dual electrics.
