well, all you transmission experts, what would you do in this situation. Putting in a 350, transmission works great, good shifts, etc. taking out a 4.3L. On sort of a budget, how long would this tranny last? It has 127K on it.

put a new filter kit in it and drive it till it blows up!

yup thats what id do, change the filter and fluid maybe instal a shift kit and go.

Yep, Like everyone else said, shift kit, new fluid and filter.

man,thats the most difficult question to answer,driving habits,was the fluid changed at regular intervals,if the fluid smells burnt,looks brown or purple be ready for a new tranny,good luck...

that is what i\'m going to do... my tranny has 132k on it. going to flush it out as well. add the shift kit and new stall converter and pray to the tranny gods it holds up http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/fun_55.gif
