my freebie motor finally lost oil pressure. I knew it was just a matter of time before it did it wasnt to healthy in the first place thats why it was free. took it apart, loosened up piston #1 with the air gun and the piston almost fell out. the only thing that stopped it was the carbon build up around the top of the cylinder wall. i thought that was kinda weird it was that loose. but o well it was free!

I am guessing the compression in that cylinder was lacking.

If youy paid real money for it, you would have that much more cash invested into that motor if you choose to rebuild it. At least you saved a few bucks!
Check it over pretty good. You could buy a refresher kit for a couple hundred bucks and be back on the road again.

for a no thrill rebuild ..with cast pistons from notherauto parts a 350 chevy kit with all new parts is like 150.00...with a new crank it s a good deal most machine shop here charge around 70-80 to trun a crank..i have seen many of these rebuild kits run in the 11;s..they are not totaly junk..but a very deceant kit for the money
