Ok, somebody please explain it to me because I still don\'t understand. This is mainly directed towards imports, mini trucks not so much. How have we.. as Americans, gone from vintage horsepower and cubic inches. To 5\" fart pipes, uniwipers, 5000watt stereos and f%*$ing 20\" wheels and MONSTER ground effects!!! What is WRONG with kids today? Granted, I am only 22 but come on people.. YOUR CARS NOT ONLY LOOK STUPID, BUT THEY SOUND STUPID TOO!! How can ANYBODY ON THIS EARTH think that the sounds that come out of those chainsaw mufflers sound GOOD!? They literally make me sick, I want to throw up when i hear them!

I\'m not quite sure what boggles me more, the fact that they REALLY REALLY DO think their cars are FAST... or the fact that when CERTAIN other people see these... cars? they say \"yo that $hit is hot\", or something along the lines of that... praising the car. Dude that $hit is busted!! Not only is it putrid, but its SLOW. Maybe its only like that up here in CT, the only fast imports here are ONLY found at the race track because their turbos are putting out so much boost or their running so much spray that they need at least 110octane. But the other morons who\'s asses i kick in my trailblazer(15.9 in the 1/4mi.)!!?!? COME ON my truck weights 3 TIMES what your car weights!!!!! That is PATHETIC, my truck is not fast!! For an SUV, ok.. but overall .... so somebody out there please respond.. because I\'m starting to think that maybe IM missing something????? Why do all these kids drive them? Is it because insurance is cheaper and mommy and daddy dont want you behind the wheel of anything that has REAL power??? Thanks for listening to me vent..

when i got intrested in cars when i was about 12 i wanted a 5.0l mustang, by no means the most powerful car in the world but i good base.

I have a 1987 s10 4x4 with a 355, 700r4 3.73 and 6\"inches of lift on 31\" tires and i can still embarass most guys around here.

I know this one guy i used to work with he just bought a late model neon. he put a front and rear body kit and hes storing it for the winter, he doesnt have rims exhaust K&N nothing just a skirt and he storing it like it an al powerful mustang or camaro, like what the hell is that all about?



Have you guys seen some of the shit they do to these imports on TV shows. where talk civic with over $100,000 in them, that is crazy.

When im driving around in my truck and come up beside an import i just llok at the car and shake my head saying why why why

Hey, im glad all you feel the same way, its all COMMON SENSE!!! Ricers suck, just simple that. I mean, lets take an ECONOMY CAR, put some fiberglass body kit, some 8 inch tip on 1 inch exhast from a 4 banger. Also, lets put a spoiler on the BACK of a FRONT WHEEL CAR, i mean, come on guys, how stupid can you be, it probably hurst you more than it helps. This is great!!!! The whole fact that they think a 4cyl can really beat a good old american v-8 is so damn funny!

GM,FORD, and CHRYSLER are finally starting to take notice that the imports have stolen alot of money from us the american public with what they make. Have you seen what the big 3 are doing with their cars lately? 700 horse out of a quad-4? the same out of a neon 2.0L? Hey they are trying to get the young kids back to buying their cars and not the flippin imports.



I am 46 and have been into cars for 30 plus years so I have seen it all. I\'m not trying to enforce what the kids now a days are doing,especially street racing cuz I have and still do, (don\'t tell anybody)my share of it. I just take it out in the country away from crowded streets.



Lets give the kids credit for hot rodding what they are offered and hope they will come around to our side soon!

another horrible thing about fast and the furious that really bugged me is whern the charger lifted the front wheels off the ground and smoked the tires at the same time... i\'m sorry but the laws of physics do not allow for that to happen... and did anyone else notice that when they marked off the 1/4 mile that it seemed like it took those imports like 2 minuits to finish the race? and i\'m prety sure i counted 11 gears that he shifted through... like comon get realistic... its no better than the god old dukes of hazzard when jessy is driving his truck in park....

I personally like the movie. I think a lot of people get too worked up over it. Its just a movie. Its there for your enjoyment. I know nearly half of the movie was fake, but how many movies aren\'t? It wasnt\' a documentary, they were just trying to make money.



Second, I do hate http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/smileJap.gifrs. I know there are guys out there that actually ahve put in the wrench time, and ahve the knowledge to get their cars going fast. But, around there, theres not. Just a bunch of punks that threw on a bunch of stickers, put a cold air intake on their car, and added and exahust. And they expect their cars to be the fastest thing on the road. I really hate all those neons, especially those LED washer ones. Granted, some might say that I am a hipocrite, since I have big rims and euros on my blazer. Truthfully, my biggest problem, well 2, is the attitude they have, and the huge wing on a FWD car.



Few months ago, buddy and I were walking out of a club. Some punk in a newer Prelude was blowing up and down the road. Was doing it all night. I was talking to some women, and my buddy Ty went and started talking to him. More of yelling at him. Asked him what he\'d done, he said\" Oh, little of this, lot of that.\" My buddy told him that I had a decently quick truck, and If he wanted to line up. He said he\'d blow the doors off any truck. I blew it off, and dismissed it, since I didnt wanna race with the full carload, my buddy and 3 women. We leave, and he pulls up to me driving, and revs it. I rev back, and he takes off threw traffic. I caught him at the stoplight, and nobody was around. I reved it, and said at green we go. Light turned green. He jumped , and I put it down. Took him out of the hole with my 3.42 one legger, and had a car lenth on him by the time I was shifting into 3rd. Gave up and slowed down to let him catch up at the next red light. That little *beep* didn\'t even stop, turned right, gave me the finger and got on the eway. Little *beep*, take off your skirt next time.

Alright first of all I have to defend some of my friends and family members with imports by saying not all guys who drive imports are all posers. I have friends that are building up an all buiness civic (yes no body kit or stickers) and that thing will be in the 11s this spring. Some guys are very knowalgeable and you have to give them credit for getting some serious horsepower outa those little motors. And yes i do despise those little posers and pucks that think that because they have an intake and a muffler on thier car theyre billy badboy. I personal liked the movie also, like ZZ4 says, its just a movie. if those idiots out there think they can actually runs 10\'s with a civic then more power to them..i don\'t mind taking there money if they want to race. Some imports have good potential, like a 300Z or a 3000GT, even if you look at a Skyline, the cars are just awsome in performance and handle like there on rails. But these guys who put a big wing and a hugh exhaust tip on there cars and think there fast are just simple mined, they obviously have never been in an old muscle car. I personal grew up around old muscle cars, my dad owned a body shop and restored old cars, the first real fast ride i ever had was in a 69 RAIII Judge, now thats impressive. These kids are growing up in a different world, where theres minivans and honda accords parked in the driveway instead of a big block camaro\'s and ram air GTO\'s. I personal don\'t care what other people drive. I think i gave the wrong impression.. i only used the Fast and Furious as a title cuz i couldnt think of anything else.. i wasnt referring to the movie in ANY way.. i was just talking about idiot asses around town with the cold air intakes, 5\" fart pipes and 20\" rims that think their cars are fast.. Nitrojunkie I totally agree man there ARE people out there that put a lot of money into their imports and they do go quick... i give THEM credit.. a friend of mine has a CRX that runs high 11s no turbo and i give him a lot of credit. The problem is that the imports that actually GO FAST are FAR and FEW... well.. at least up here in New England thats the case. But these bend over buddies with their junk cars are giving imports a bad name... i can honestly say I will NEVER buy an import because of what people have done to them.

I have 18\'s on my blazer. Only 245/40\'s on the back. They hook way better than my 275/50/15\" BFG radial TA\'s. They do make 18\" drag radials.



If you run slicks at the track, do you drive them on the street too?

haha That movie is a crock of shit. So many stupid things not even close to right in there it wasn\'t even funny. For the record though, it\'s entirely possible to pull the wheels while getting some tire smoke...I\'ve seen it myself. Before the movie was released someone on another website had a still shot of the car right as the wheels came up...they hadn\'t yet edited out the lift that they used to pick up the car!! Plus if you notice when he\'s sittin there you can\'t see the front passenger side tire....it\'s missing plain as day!

hey actually the supra should be faster than the charger. off the line, no, but thats because those supras are TT, meaning they get a lot of lag until 4000rpm. i\'ve got a video of a 900+rwhp supra that does 9.3sec, without lifting the wheels, and without nitrous. no one ever sees them because it costs over 70grand to get it there.

Couldnt help but laugh at him. He got all offended and suggested a race. I rode with a friend of mine who had an \'03 cobra there and he was up for it. There are 2 traffic lights that are almost exactly 1/8 apart. Well, we never needed to get out of 3rd to dust his sorry ass.

LOL i get such a kick out of it sometimes. Like in my english class, there is a group of kids that sit around all class period and read there \"Super Tuner\" Magazines and point out to eachother the biggest exhaust tip in the magazine (which i think that they are just compensating for something) or the spoiler that makes their car makes their car look and sound less like a common ricer and more like like a lawnmower. But to the point one of these kids pulls up to the light after school, motions me to roll down my window, and proceeds to ask me to racer him (him in is early 90\'s honda CRX

vs. me in my 1985 Toyota pickup, just a stock base 2wd) so long story short the light turns green and i waste him so bad that he might think next time about praising honda so, when i go back to my english class on Monday i think he will be a bit quieter about his impulse to brag about his car
