Does the vacuum for the distributor come off of the port that has vacuum all of the time, or the one above it that loses vacuum off idle?

It is supposed to be connected to the one that loses (some) vacuum at idle. This is referred to as \"ported vacuum\". But, some guys prefer to use manifold vacuum. Depends upon you setup.
