Depends alot on traction but with that much power 10\'s are easily in that truck\'s future.

just what i think but acording to what iv seen .... un less your tubed with 13inch wide slicks and full possie dont expect any thing faster than low 12`s mid 11`s i know a guy with 400hp in his 85 s-10 and he spins the hole track with 10inch wide bfg drag r both tires and is only running 12`s... traction is the biggest problem ... off subject but you mind me asking how you managed 500hp+ out of a 355? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Out of curiousity, do you know exatly what time and mph your friend is running? If not, is it low, mid, or high 12\'s? I\'m curious because I\'ll be running a setup close to 400hp.
I don\'t think 530 hp is that insanely hard to get. It\'s probably not a very streetable engine unless he\'s running forced induction, but with a radical cam, some extremely nice flowing heads, roller everything and a big ol\' tunnel intake I can imagine numbers close to that. That or just a mild block setup with some decent boost.

but dont forget 530 hp is only the peak dont forget you can have multiple hp and torque curves. ex. a 490 hp 350 can be faster than a 530 hp engine if the average hp across the used rpm range is more. The only way to find the best e/t is to race it and tune the package. and gearing isnt everthing you still need the right chassis, suspension, stall.

I know im not puttin out that much HP, but my truck is good for a 11.1 or 11.2 if i can get a perfect run out of it.

you guys also have to take into consideration that on a weekend race or test and tune day, the track usually doesnt prep the track all that well... unless you goto a track that holds a major event such as a Divisional meet or even National meet, your more than likely going to spin... I know that if I take my Trans Am to Great Bend (Local Track) I can run mid 15\'s on street slicks. but If I take it to Topeka,Ks (Heartland Park) after a major event, I can runs mid 14\'s
My S10 has a 406 in it with an estimated 550 to 575 hp. I get this HP estimate from dyno 2000 and what MPH (125) my truck does in the 1/4 and its weight (2900# w/driver). If the track is good it will turn 10.80 with a 60 foot time of 1.470 seconds. It has 30\" tall 9\" Hoosers radials. I use a turbo 350 with a 3.90 Ford 9\" rear. Drag shocks and springs with Slide-a-link tracksion bars is pertty much all the suppension mods I have.
