Not to use slicks or sticky tires with them. I\'ve heard of guys breaking the cheap aluminum ones... including me.

The manufacture told me about that with aluminum. These are steel. The guy said the steel ones would be okay. Sound like he was telling me the truth?

Hope so. I have a set of solid steel ones going on my truck as soon as I swap on my caltracs. But Im only using a 1\" block since I already have 3\" drop leafs.

I got mine from stylin concepts. They are a solid steel block. They\'ve got some coating on them so they won\'t rust too.

You can easily remove a leaf or 2 and lower the truck.

Just curious why you didn\'t just do the leaf removal thing yourself.... especially since you\'re planning on the Cal-Tracs which would control and spring wrap problems. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I got mine from Styling Concepts as well. They are powder coated.

I took out all but one leaf and the overload. I also installed 3\" blocks. Without shocks connected, the truck sits on the stops. Very little bounce, perhaps 1/2 inch before it hits bottom. I bought some Gabrial High Jackers air shocks and plan on installing them next weekend.

Did I take out too many leafs, and/or will the air shocks compensate for what I lost? I do plan on installing tracktion bars or something. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I lowered my s10 3\" in an hour. No problems at all. I used aluminum u bolts and steel blocks. I did not have to remove leaf springs or anything of that nature. It was the easiest work I have ever done on my truck.

I have a pair of 3\" DJM steel blocks that I didnt use on my truck if anyone needs em. Dont have the u-bolts tho. Gimme an address and pay the shipping and their all yours for the asking...

Be careful with aluminum in your suspension. It fatigues quickly. It didn’t take long to drop it; I have the drop that I need. I may end up replacing the 3” with a 1” block. I just need to figure out if my springs are too week and, if they are, will the air shocks be able to compensate.

Sinfull, I am thinking about taking mine out also. Do you have a single leaf?

Well, I never really installed em, I bought em off ebay, then decided to go with the 3\" drop leafs instead. One thing I have figured out tho, theyre all drop differently, some 4\" and some3\" just depends on the truck. So really ya gotta experiment til ya get it where ya want it. I pulled the middle leaf and the bottom overload outa mine before I got the drop leafs and it didnt drop maybe a half inch. I suggest gettin the drop leafs, and go from there,. I used the 3\" drop leafs and 1\" drop coils on front, and with the weight of the engine, this is what I got..
