I read he was standing up on the seat, the bike started wobbling and he fell off head first without a helmet. Fractured his skull.

Happened at a bike show in NC (?) I think.

\'Indian Larry\' dies after stunt in Cabarrus

Indian Larry, a master motorcycle mechanic and stunt man, passed away this morning following an accident while performing Saturday at the Liquid Steel Classic and Custom Bike Series show at Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord. He was best known for his appearances on Discovery Channel\'s \"Great Biker Build-Off\" show.

\"He was riding and standing up on his seat,\" said Mike Downs, Cabarrus County deputy county manager. \"The bike started to wobble and he was not able to regain control.\"

Indian Larry fell off the bike before a crowd of about 8,000. He was not wearing a helmet. Paramedics were standing by and aided him until he could be airlifted to CMC, Downs said.

\"Cabarrus County along with the staff at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center sends its sincere condolences to the family of Indian Larry,\" said Robert M. Freeman, chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. \"Indian Larry was a man with great skill and talent as a mechanic and metal sculptor. He will be truly missed by his fans here in Cabarrus County and throughout the nation.\"

Indian Larry was best known for his eccentric nature, according to his official Web site. His résumé includes movie, video and television.

That really sucks. I met him at bike week this last year. He actually took time to talk to he fans unlike some other bike builders. He was a really cool guy. Damn nice bikes to.

I believe he died at 3:48 this morning. The accident was Saturday afternoon. According to one guy who saw it, the bike went one way and Larry went the other. He hit on his head and didn\'t tumble, just took all the impact in one shot. At least he went out doing something he loved to do. We should all be so lucky.

Ride free Larry.

Couple weeks ago I was at Englistown Raceway Park with the kids for \"Monster Trucks\", and lo & behold Indian Larry was there milling around in the crowd.

......... Frankly, I had no clue who he was, but It was soon obvious he was a major celebrity. From a few who seemed to know, he was a all-around \"good guy\". A sad situation.

My son and I talked with him at the Javits Center in NYC at the last bike show. He was a real down to earth person. Sorry to hear the news.

That sucks, he built some of the coolest bikes, he even made his own wire wheels. For anybody who doesn\'t know he owned gasoline alley in New York city which builds custom choppers.
