Why don\'t more people make their own traction bars? They seem to be easy to make. Will these work for my 94?

Those will fit your truck. The Buy It Now price is the same as the cheap universal ones. I\'d want to see the welds in person, but they\'re probably okay. Slapper bars like that cured my wheel hop issues. Good luck on getting them.

Thanks 327, My brother is a welder and he can go over them if they need it. I went ahead and bought them. They are 23 3/4 inches from the front ubolt hole to the center of the snubber. On my truck, 24 inches takes it to the center of the eye on the leaf spring.

As long as you can set the snubber to hit on the eye rather than the leaf itself, you should not have any problems. I\'m using the universal ones that are a little short and haven\'t had any problems yet. But it\'s nice to have something that fits like it should. Start with about a half inch gap between snubber and eye, then adjust for your driving style. It feels pretty good to plant the tires rather than have them hop and chirp. Hope you like them.

What does the gap do and what is wrong with placing the snubber right on the eye?

If the snubber is on the spring eye all the time your ride will be harsh. 1/4 of clearance is good. more clearance on the right compared to left I am told.

The gap gives the suspension a chance to move normally before additional stresses are placed on the spring. Watch from the side as a slapper bar equipped car/truck accellerates slowly, stops and goes over speed bumps. You will see that driving on the street comfortably means leaving a moderate gap to allow the suspension to work. Track day, you may want to set it a little closer. Just my thoughts on this topic.
