meh... in my case it doesn\'t matter if it leaks it only comes out on nice days hell my truck doesn\'t even have wipers on it... just billet caps over the motor... and i\'m gunna have right around 500hp coem spring so oh well... put a cage in it... that\'ll stiffin it up i\'m gunna need one anyway stupid rules at the track i tell ya...they tell me that with the targa top i can\'t run any faster than 14\'s becasue they trat it like a convertable... oh well

Ive got a cage, but when it comes to safety the last thing i want to do is weaken the roof, or any other vital part (pillars) that is connected to it in the event of a roll over. And don\'t forget, you can get air leaks too http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
leave the targa tops to the lowriders and slow vehicles (Corvettes not included).. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Oh ya, one other thing.. thats kinda odd that you can\'t run faster than 14\'s with a targa top when the vettes run in the 13s with one from the factory. I\'m sure it\'s ok because it came from the factory like that but still.. stupid rule.. I agree. If your building a vehicle for speed your not going to put a targa top on it anyway.. nobody wants it to go flying off while they\'re draggin\'.

targa tops are those 1 peice removable tops.. its either on.. or off.. like on the vettes.. its 1 peice.. and it covers both the passenger and the driver.

i liked the idea of gullwing doors, until i realized that for a daily driver, it\'d be retarded. you\'d never be able to park anywhere and open them. now, scissor-style, that\'d be cool. there\'s a guy over on mys10.com who tried it on his, but it wasn\'t as easy as he had thought, so he stopped.

Thats what I thought at first too, but you have to actually SEE a car to understand how it works.. go check out a DeLorean Site.. the way it works.. is you cut the roof and attach it to the door... the door actually pivots WAY up top (where your dome light would be) this way the door doesnt really open OUT.. it just goes out maybe an inch to get off the striker and then goes straight up. See if you can find a picture of a DeLorean.. it will make much more sense. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I\'ve only seen one S-10 with gullwing doors several years ago at a car show. it looked sick cause he used everyday hinges that u could c sticking up above the doors. its a good concept but if u do it i hope it looks better than that one did. keep us posted and send pics.

a guy in town has a bricklen sv-1 (saftey vehicle 1... stupid name for it considering it kept up the the corvette and handled just as good as it) but anyway it has gullwing doors and the body panels aren;lt painted they are actually coated in acrylic, and the acreylic between the doors is cracking on the roof really bad it would be a huge stress point and do a search for a bricklen sometime... they\'re prertty cool there was only like 1000 made or something liek that and they were a canada only model
