Question 400cui.SmallBLock

Hello guys i got a question i got a 1987S-10 2wd.Right now there is a 350cui in there but a friend of mine is selling his 400cui Small Block with estimatet 420horses.Do you guys think that the original rear end can hold that power?And i still got the 700r4 in there i rebuild it and but it to manual valve body and to performance i think than it should hold the power or what you guys think??Because on german roads i cant use a Powerglide.Well let me know what you guys think about.

i have seen a few trucks at the track with stock rear-end going low 12s i think it would hold for a while but i would recomend having a spare or plans for a stronger rear in the future especially if it a driver.

the way i see it go for it then head for the autobahn and see how fast the bitch\'ll go... it\'s not like you lucky guys can get shit for doin 130mph... i got a speeding ticket here for about 160mph.. it hurt... i lost my lisence for a while over it.. but yeah i have about 450hp and i have my stock diff with a auburn in it... it holds very nicely... i\'ve been runing it for a year now and i have a 700r also and no problems with either yet

I\'VE SEEN 2 S-10s AROUND HERE RUNNING IN LOW 11\'s ON A TON OF NITROUS WITH STOCK REAR ENDS MUST RUNNING SPORTMAN TIRES HOLDING FARILY WELL. I RAN MY STOCKER WITH 373 GEAR FOR ABOUT 2 MOUNTHS. UNTIL I BROKE A SPIDER CAUSING AN AXLE TO BREAK DO TO MASSIVE TIRE SHAKE DO TO WRINKLE SIDE WALLS .BUT I\'M PUSHING 835 HP AT 7800 RPM ALSO GOOD LUCK.

So in that way i understand now is i can use my original rear end with the original gears whithout having problems??And i use my 700r4 tranny i put a 2000stall converter on there and i upgrade it to performance and than everything should be good.I got one question is that 400cui small block a good enginebecause i didnt see much of them here in germany.

if ya get alot of hook up ur gonna break something, i was good for three months until i put different tires on then i broke it in two days, so depends on tires and hook up i guess, goodluck , use it till ya break it then worry about getting another rear end.

Hm im not worry about getting a different rear end.Because than i just drop a 12bolt in what i have laying around put i dont have the money right now to do everything at the moment.Next year in the winter time i put the 12bolt in.And here in germany we just have 5races over the year.And i just cruise it a little bit on the street.
