Hey guys,

I am 20 years old and have always wanted to have a career in the automotive business but i dont wont to work in a factory or as a mechanic or a sales man.

Im currently working in the construction trade with my father who is a ex mechanic so i have leanerd alot from him.

Anyhow i friend of ours is building a second store in his car dealership chain in near where i live.

I would really like to start my own business doing car detailling and audio instlations, also some performance stuff.

I could probalby get a good deal on the shop that is attached to the dealership, my father will give me almost all his automotive tools.

i have experience with audio in a Commercial Audio way, like concerts and stuff.

Now how can i learn to do everything i need to know how to open my own business.

Also starting money is shouldnt be a problem.

The brother of the guy building the dealership is my dads best friend and is loaded and would be willing to cosign a loan for me.

Talk to some of the local dealerships besides your friend and see what there paying to have there cars detailed, alot of the bigger ones send there work else where because they get a package deal, if you can line up some work from these guys then thats a good start. I would also check into so local night classes by you for business and money management, theres lots of laws and tax questions you need to have answered, check into getting a TIN number from the IRS, this is a number that works the same as a SS number, with your business as the primary holder of the credit required to purchase tools and shop equipment. And if your business goes under it won\'t effect the assets you already own. The major things would be follow the tax laws and get some deals set up before you go to the bank. If you have a proposed plan on what your going to make a month and what all expensises cost then you shouldn\'t have a problem starting up. Make sure you have everything in order before you go to the bank, they\'ll ask you alot of questions on what you plan on doing with there money. Good luck. It takes alot of work to have your own business, beside being the soul person doing the work, you also have to answer the phones and pick up and deliver the vehicles not to mention do the billing and ordereing of parts. This country was founded on the small business. Determination and willingness to work long hours is a must. One helpfull tip though, for the first year your in business, take your profits, whatever is not required to stay open on, and put it back in your business, the better equipment you have and the better the facility you have the more the business will grow, and employees is a must to make a business grow, more work requires more people, thats a whole nother tax issue. Good luck buddy !!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Hey thanks for the tips.

My mother is the one who takes care of all the taxes and stuff for my dads business and im sure i could work something out to take care of mine, also my younger brother is going to go to business school soon so when hes done hopefully i can give him his first job!

Also the i would probably be able to get all the work from the dealership for detailling the cars.

whats the big deal if someone has a problem and asks a question. The friendly thing to do is answer. Sometimes the subject may change from V8 S10\'s to other subjects. I don\'t see the crime in answering a simple question.

It takes more effort to post a nasty response than it does to click on another post.

i think where he is getting at is what has happened to the other S sites, like blazinlow, s-seriesforum and s10forum, they all are flooded every hour with meaningless threads about crap, 50% or more of there sites have nothing to do with the S10, I promise you if this site ever gets as bad as those sites in content I won\'t be running it anymore!
