Ok i know one is going to beieve me but my dad did this not me. It was cold getting out of work..3rd shift and there frost on the windshield. All he had was a soda can. He cut in half and since aluminu is softer than glass it shoukdn\'t scratch. Well it didn\'t sratch but thr alluminum came off like a crayon on the glass. How can we get it off. I suggested some brake cleaer or be really careful of the paint and use brake fluid. Any ideas will be considered. Until we fix this my dad is in the dog house. sory about snytypos. I\'m using a web tv right now and anyone who has ever used an old one knows the keys boards suck.

I have used toothpaste before to polish fine scratches out uf a windshield with excellent results. It takes some time and elbow grease but works well as a glass polish. Might try it.

What\'s the insurance comany going to do. Luckily he just got insurance. Here in new hampshire we have that over the top live free or die BS. So you don\'t have to have it if you don\'t want to.

000 steel wool and lighter fluid as a lubricant, wash real good and finish with a couple coats of rainex. I like that insurance idea-I take care of mine you take care of yours .I been driving 35 years no accidents could have bought a house with the money paid to the assholes

pop cans are not all aluminum, only the top is I believe, that is why in ditches there is only the top left after years of breaking down and rusting.

Nope, all aluminum. It\'s just that the sides are paper thin, so they deteriorate much faster. I know a little about those cans... I worked for 12 years or so as an electrician in a plant that made 3,000,000 beer cans PER DAY!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif Definitely did my part to make this world a happier place! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

....... I\'m also wondering if what is on the windshield isn\'t the coating from the can... the whole can is coated, inside and out. Either way, I\'m sure it\'s a mess.

........ BTW, regarding the cans and the coatings.... if a can failed to get coated on the inside, beer would be leaking out in a week or two.... Cola? A couple days or less!!

It\'s can came off like a cryon. We strahed with a pocket knife a ittle in one spot and it started to come off a little. So it\'s not scratched into the glass.
