Whats up guys.. I have a 96 s10 with the 2.2 5 speed. I am building my truck as I go, and I want to put an lt1 with a t-56 in eventually. Well my problem is. I am body dropping my truck this winter and I want to clean/ redo everything on my truck. Well I was wondering if I can use the corevette aluminum rad on my 2.2 now since I wont be swapping to a v8 later. That way I know it fits with the frame horns cut and everything. It will look cleaner. and I wont have to worry about it later. But will this cause problems or what? thanks

first, it might keep it too cool. that sounds good but you run into a problem bc the motor is designed with a certain operating temperature. if you run it for extended periods of time without it being fully warm itll wear out the rings and the bearings. an engine typically runs at its least efficient when its cold because all the clearances are greater when its cold. once it warms up itll tighten up the clearances a little and its alot more efficient. second problem thats overlooked. iron block, aluminum radiator. dissimilar metals will have a small amount of electrical current between them. its called electrolysis. itll wear out your coolant faster and possibly cause rust in your coolant.
