2 1/4\" exhaust?

has anyone had any luck running the 2 1/4\" exhaust manifolds from a camaro or firebird? I set my engine in again to find out it looks like they won\'t work even in the set back position. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif

What year camaro? The manifolds I used were stock monte, which are the same on the camaro. The right side is rear dump and the left side dumps between the last 2 cylinders. 2\" is oe but the 2 1/4 can fit with some teadaous downpipe nut tightening.

these are stock (high performance) manifolds used on the TPI engines. The right side down tube is quite longer than the 2\" These came off of a 86 TA. If you look in the JTR manual, they say the right side will not clear. I\'m setting the engine back against the firewall. I did not know if they would clear if in the set back position. I do have the stock 92 camaro (2\") maniflods but if possible, want to use the 2 1/4\". I am on light duty due to surgery and can not do the install yet but want to be prepared when I can.
