I may build a 385 stroker .040 over instead of .030. It would have either 9.8:1 compression or 10.2:1 compression with AFR 195 heads, .494/ 236 at .050 hyd cam with 110 lobe sep. 1.5\" headers, 2.5\" exhaust, 670 carb, Rpm air gap intake. I will have 4.10 gears, a th350 and 3000 stall. What hp and tq would this combo make? And would it be better to have the higher compression stated above or not for a street motor.

With AFRs you can go with 10.2:1 and still run pump gas. You might want to go with 180cc heads with this build(if you havent purchased them yet. Itll net you more bottom end and better throttle responce.

Here is something for you, this is on a 400 too

Here is what AFR made with a smaller cam/heads/compression than what your thinking.

430 HP 355ci

AFR Street 180 Heads

9.5:1

Holley 0-80779 750 cfm

MSD Distributor 34° Timing

Comp Cams 270 Magnum Hyd. (224/.470/110)

1 5/8\" Headers

93 Octane Pump Gas

Engine built and dyno tested by AFR

Goto AFRs site and click the dyno tests on the top of the screen

So it says that i should have 464 hp at 5000 rpm and 515 lb ft tq. That will be a crazy street engine. That compression is lower than what I would have. It makes 432 lb ft at 2500 which launches you pretty good. I don\'t think I would need to go to 4.10 gears with that much power, I could keep the 3.73\'s.

I would stay w/3.73s.

I did a camaro with a 10 to 1 Vortec headed, .510-.530 lift, T-350, and a 3.73 gear and its an animal, of course getting my customers to the track is like pulling teeth!!!!
