Chopped, yes, thinned no.
Would like to see some pics in process. I would believe it would be really time consuming.

If you are talking about an open wheel design, my uncle did that. He also made the front look a bit more like a PT Cruiser or an old street rod. It was a tough transition to the cab so he had to extend the front a bit. It was a step side bed. In order for it to look nice, he built the frame and used chrome suspension and control arms. He did not tell me what it cost, but he has some deep pockets. He sold it to a guy in AZ for $23,000. I know he lost money on it. He sunk a lot in the motor also. I wanted to buy it, but didn’t have the money at the time.
Edit: I\'ll ask him if he has picture.

picture the s10 as if u are looking at it from above. take your hands and put them on either side of the body, and then push them towards the center. what gives u is a body that is not as wide as the frame.

my plan is to take between 10-15\" out of the center and move the cab area back so that it is right in front of the rear wheels and the engine back about 1 1/2 feet. this will give me much better weight distrubution. i have the plans all in my head, and im just hving trouble putting it all on paper. ill have some rough sketchs up in a day or 2 and u all can laugh at me

Can\'t wait to see the sketch..
And yeah, Indiana, lets see a pic of your Uncle\'s truck!
................... Junior Johnson narrowed his \'67 Chevelle, but only an inch or two.... It got him in a lot of trouble, but only after he won a few races on the \"big\" tracks... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif After they figured out why his car looked \"funny\", NASCAR started using the body templates.....http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
............ Regarding S-10s, Seems to me that 15\" would be way too much, it\'d look like those single seat steel trucks..... Unless you made it into a roadster. Yeah, that\'s it... that way you\'d have less to narrow.... No roof! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif Mabye you could find some fiberglass rep fenders for a 30s something and make \'em work....
........... Did you see the kit they have to make the S-Trucks into \'40 Willys (Studebaker?) pickup? A member here has one, the pic is somewhere in the \"Gallery\". Pretty neat.
