What do I need to do this? Do I need to go to meikeke or somewhere and get custom bent pipes? And what is a good exhaust that is loud and deep? Thanks alot.

Meineke may not wanna put exhaust on it. The cheapest loud exhaust is good ol glass packs they\'ll run you about $20 a muffler. If meineke wont do it take it to a private muffler man and have him put some exhaust on it for ya. I got exhaust put on my K5 for $200.

Yah, find some little shop to do it. Most won\'t do it these days with emission being so.

Good, deep, mean sounding exhuast, 2.5\" true duals with flowmaster 40 series. Mine sets off alarms without being too loud, or tinny, or crackling or popping

You may as well go with 3\'\' exhaust. It\'s not that much more expensive and way less restrictive. I ordered the Flowmaster 40 series from Jegs and took the truck to a small exhaust shop and had it done full 3\'\' with cross over for $200.

Thats kinda much for his plans. I think he\'s only shooting for the 300 hp mark

It will save money in the long run if he does decide to go with more power later. When i first did the swap i did\'nt ever think i would have a motor as powerfull as i do now, but i bought the exhaust anyway. And im glad i did.

True, I figured I wouldn\'t be going as far as I am now. I think Im gonna step up to 3\" this winter when I swap to a big tube shorty.

Do you just have a cross over pipe connecting the 2 or more of an X pipe?

Mine has a crossover connecting the two about 10\'\' before the mufflers.

I agree, but i guess that all of our trucks cant sound the same. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Even though i think that some Dynomax Bullets or some Borlas\' would be nice also.

I currently have dual 2 1/4 with cats and no mufflers and exit out back.

but i dont have to have the cats anymore cause i found out emissions in ontario canada are pretty easy.

So im gonna just use the 2 1/4 comming from the headers until it get under the truck then put step up to 2 1/2 before i put on the dynomax bullets and turndowns.

FOR MY TRUCK DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF AIR PASSING THRU . I\'M RUNNING 3 INCH PIPE FROM END OF HEADERS TO 40 SERIES FLOWMASTERS AND TURN OUT AT REAR END. HAS A VERY AGRESSIVE SOUND AND ALARMS ARE A BLAST BUT CRUISING BY BIG FRONT WINDOWS IN STORE ARE THE BEST JUST WATCH THEM SHAKE

A cheap deep sounding muffler is the Thrush turbos. 3 inch exhaust might be bad for your application because you need a certain amount of backpressure for the engine to run its best. Unless you\'re making a lot of HP dont worry about 3\".

I believe 40 series are the loudest.

all i have to say is flowmaster baby.... nothin better than it... possibly hooker or borla but borla exhaust is expensive as hell

Realistically Flows don\'t actually flow worth caca. A nice set of straight through mufflers would be better.....a la the Magnaflows or the Dynomax Bullets, though IMO Flowmasters have THE sound a performance vehicle should have.

Backpressure shmackpressure....who needs lowend anyways?
