killed me a honda vtech

finaly got me a kill..my brothers car broke down(taraus) so he borrewed his in-laws car ,,which is a 2001 honda accord with the bad 1.6 v-tech,,lol...any way..so we meet at my house to go fix his car..and im following him..we stop at a stop sign and i pull up beside him...and i say ist that a vtech...yep...so he says hey lets race.....i let him get about 3 cars on me...before i even moved...i beat him by about 20 cars...and the bad part was i was in my family car which is a 1996 olds with a 3.8 v6...it was funny as hell...

Those Olds 3.8 V6s can move! Till I get my truck done, I\'m driving an 88 Olds 88 with the 3.8......that thing can really put me back in the seat when I stomp on it to merge on the highway.

yep mine is a 1996 olds 88 3.8 liter...it keeps up with a lot of sport cars...its not fast but it will push you back and pull till like 120 mph..that motor in a light weight s10 would be fun

as far as this story goes 2001 accords didnt come in 1.6 and its VTEC not vtech... vtech is a phone company not a honda engine technology..

Accords never came in a 1.6. The engines they came with (F/I) were F20A and F22B VTEC F23B....Accords are always SLOW until you swap in a H22A. Yes I am a Honda Geek but now I own a 2004 Lemans Sunset Nissan 350Z Touring Edition and a 89 ALL BLACK Chevrolet S10. 350 build starts this week.

Okay the older 90-93 Accords came with a 2.0 SOHC Non-VTEC engine while 94 and up came with 2.2 SOHC VTEC and the 2.3 SOHC Non-VTEC. Unless you are talking about the V6 Accord which I have no idea about b/c I never built one.



You are thinking of the 99-2000 Civic Si which came with a 1.6 DOHC VTEC (B16A2) engine. A 94 and up GSR/Type-R came with 1.8 DOHC VTEC (B18C1/5). 92 and up Preludes came with a 2.2 DOHC VTEC (H22A4) and a 2.3 DOHC Non-VTEC (i think it was a H23A1).



In the SOHC VTEC motors VTEC is almost useless. It only changes over to bigger cam lobes on the Intake Valves. Now the DOHC VTEC motors were the big dogs. They change over to bigger cam lobes on the Intake and Exhaust and these motors are very high revving. The DOHC VTEC motors are the ones that you hear change over from the outside of the car....Now if the Accord had a 1.6 D16Z6/D16Y8/B16A in it that car must have been slower than S**T. The D16Z6/Y8 only have 127HP and 108TQ and the B16A only has 160HP and 111TQ.



I have had every Honda from a 88 Civic DX Hatch to a 2004 Honda S2000 (AP2 F22C1)

Damn I made a mistake on the Accords Oooooooo Big Freaking Deal! Accords are slow and are made to be family rides. I made the damn mistake b/c I HAVE NEVER OWNED ONE and never wanted anything to do with them....
