random 305 questions

1. anyone know how big the stock cam is on an 89 tbi 305. (caprice)

2. i was told all of them built after 87 were roller cam...any truth to this? somehow i dont think so.

3. im guessing the cam in there isnt all that big. i have access to a set of 1.6:1 rocker arms. will i bang valves if i put em on?

it is a roller motor for sure. only the trucks still came with a flat tappet cam. as far as how big?? but you wont have any problems with 1.6 rockers. but you will have to change the valve springs.
