I finallly got my camel humps with alluminum roller rockers put on my 327. I fired it up on the engine stand adn it hits the rpms like you wouldn\'t believe and the cam is only a regrind RV2. wish I could record it and let you all hear it. It sounds bad A$$ Talk to you guys later Greg

i have made many many post of my 327. if you have never heard me talk about it , than hear it is aginn... i had a 30 over 327. steel crank hy pistons camel hump heads and a nasty 580 soild lift cam...it was in my s10 with 4.11 gears ..and let me tell you. it would hook and not spin with slicks and still hit the rpm;s so fast you had to be really ready to shift..it would hit 7800 in bink of a eye, i had several 350 motors after that and even the ones that were built better never seemed to make the same power as the 327. i love the 327, probaly more than a 350

That is one hell of a high revving 350. It ends up being about 353 or so. With that kind of bore/stroke ratio it would put a 327 to shame, and probably rev right with a 302.

As far as I will tell anyone its a 350 http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
The bore/stroke is nice too, but also the rod to stroke ratio with 6.125 rods and only a 3.25\" stroke is 1.88:1 so there is a lot less side loading.
I have always been taught that 327s are better than 350s. It hard to beat ci\'s though. Im thinking of doing either a 383 or a 434 next.

what would a 434 be just curiuos. and hands down the 327 is alot better. without a dought. but everyone has there own thing. nick

why would anyone want to deal with the 350 yeah i have seen only one bad 383. it was 35 and it could smoke the front and rear tires. but he had 6000 into just the motor. that was the only 350 blck that i would beleive in. the rest sucks a$$. just my 2 cents.

.030 over 400, with a 4.0\" stroke crank. How can you say a 327 is hands down better? Have you ever had either of them?
Your losing 100ci, thats not peanuts. My father always preaches on the 327, doesnt mean much except for it was what was avaliable and he had a good experience with them. He dislikes anyhting that isnt what he has tried. Its called being closed minded, but I dont say that to him out of respect.
Ive never had a 434, but I have had a 383, 350, and a 327. I would take the 383 for a street engine.

i have seen all of them in action. every 327 i have seen run. out ran the rest. it was just my appinion. and i do beleive every one has one.

Your right, but how did you form your opinion?
Did you get the specs of the engines? It needs to be as close to apples to apples as it can be(minus the ci)
You could have seen mild 383, then you could have seen a 327 with all the goodies, and you would like the the 327 way better no doubt.
Or it could be the exact opposite and you would be in love with the 383.

you are right im not to sure what was in the others but. iam not saying i dis like the 383. ive seen some good ones butits also like you said i have never owned one so i cant say what is best and what is not good. its what i have seen in the past and here recently. i didnt want to come off as an a$$ but hey i would like to try a 383. racer1182 and i have a freind with a 383 in his truck he had 6 grand into it. yeah i rode in it. it would hit 6000 r\'s before a blink of an eye then he stuck a blower on it then he popped the pistons i almost laughed but he was really upset about it. so just to say if i could drive something with a 383 i might change my mind but hey i got to have fun with you guys. lol just joking but yeah its all fun. hope i didnt condretict myself here. but hey truckman on your post you put that your truck burnt up. what happened with it. dont feel so bad my motor blew up. that is another reason im going with the 327. alot better then the 350.

I dont know exactly what happened, but whatever it was, a fuel line ended up coming loose and the electric fuel pump fed the fire all the gas it could burn http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

You dudes sure do like them little motors. Seems to me that its much more logical to make more power at lower RPMs. Horses are good at high RPMs, but that seat of the pants torque feels better to me. Everything has its place and purpose, no doubt. As for cheap and fast, the bigger engines are my choice. I do like to hear them short stroke engines hit the high notes, though.
