Hello all and merry Christmas!

So my ... fiance (whoa, thats still kinda weird to say) got me some kick ass presents, one of which included a flex a lite dual electric fan. It should be the missing piece in solving my cooling issues as it stays nice and cool above 25mph but as soon as I slow down it\'ll start to overheat.

So now I realize that the fans wont fit without some major reworking of the rad support to get my current large by huge griffin rad in the \"forward\" position. The rad I have is really too tall and not wide enough, so I figured I might as well do it right . So, I\'m gonna sell my griffin rad and go with the V8 swap be cool rad or an equivilently sized universal rad so I can get it in the support without any cutting.

What I\'m trying to decide is if I should keep my external tranny cooler and get a rad for a manual without a built in cooler, or if I should sell the external cooler and get an auto rad with a built in cooler for a cleaner look (you guys know I like clean).

Will the internal cooler be as effective as my external? It\'s about 5x8\". If the internal cooler will work as well, I found the rad with the built in cooler on ebay. Brand new the difference is $70 for the one with the built in cooler, so if I\'m keeping my external cooler I\'ll get the cheaper, no cooler version brand new.

Any advice / opinions?

Andy, didja\' ever check out those frame-rail coolers? Basically just some tubing with fins, think some are neater than others.

.......... At one time I had a trans cooler with mini blower located under the truck, kind of under my seat, with 3/8\" alum. lines running half-way \'round the truck to get there. Eventually needed the space for something else, removed it, and just coupled the lines where the cooler was, still runs plenty cool. My point, it is sort of the same thing...

i\'d keep what you have . external is way more efficent. put a fan off a jap bike. very small low amps best flow. look on ebay any newer bike .look at rads to may be one on a junk rad but good fan. mount it in inconspicous place

B&M makes a really sturdy trans cooler. Let your radiator cool your engine coolant, and have your trans cooler cool your trans.

I mounted mine on the frame back by the rear end. As long as it has air passing by it your fine. You could even get a trans cooler with a fan built in and tuck it anywhere you want.
