The Jet-coating on my 3 year old headers has turned to shit, most of it is gone.
........... Does anyone know:
* How long is a good Jet-Coat job supposed to last?
* Anybody know who can re-coat them for me?
* Is it a problem that they were previously coated?
* Pricey?
........... Thanks

i had a booklet that jet hot sent me. i just looked for it but cant find it. but i think jet hot has a lifetime warrenty? were they done by JETHOT? or another company? it doesnt matter that they were coated before. the process in volves cleaning blasting and all kind of other steps. so if they are messed up after 3 years someone didnt do them right?

Thanks for the thoughts ZR1. They are Sanderson\'s. I think Sanderson had just started coating their own around then.... but not sure about that.
........... Maybe I should call them.... But I can see it now, if they\'re like everyone else, they\'ll try to cop out.... Tell me I didn\'t break them in right, that is, put them on an untuned motor or some B.S. like that. So they\'ll send them back to me, I\'ll have lost a month, and paid $50 in round-trip shipping... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif
........... And I just checked, they are barely 3 years old, got them in 8/01, but kept them in the box until following spring, put them on like 5/02. After the second winter, I noticed a lot of \"pimples\" in the Jet-Coating.... it was all downhill from there.

Scotty, I\'m in the same boat. I\'m gonna send mine back this winter.
From the paperwork I found (I\'m missing the damn reciept though, doh!) the warranty is something like life time warranty against rust-through, and 3 yr. satifaction guarantee. I know mine are less than 3 yrs old so I\'m gonna try to get em re-done. Wanna ship em together? Might be cheaper.
I\'m gonna get mine re-done anyway even if they won\'t warranty em. Gotta call up and see if they\'ll do it without a receipt. There\'s a big message under \"why use jet-hot\" on their website that says \"unlike other brands, we honor our warranty\" and I remember them being great to do business with. Maybe we can get them re-done for free.
happy new year everyone!

if they dont redo them and you go through JETHOT it shouldnt cost too much. $15 a foot. they measure it as if all the tubes were straight. these companies charge way too much for coated headers. it is cheaper to buy a set of headers and send them off. good luck i hope sanderson does something for you. but hay if they give you a hard time you need to mention this web site and all the people you know with an s10 v8 and that you will be sure to tell everyone around the U.S. that sanderson products are junk!! that will change their adittude if they give you trouble. it worked for me with World Products. just a thought.

actually, I\'ve bought both pre-coated hedmans and uncoated hedmans which I sent out to jet hot and it was a little more expensive to do the jet-hot. Around $40 more I think. I thought the extra cost was worth it because jet-hot coats inside and out (unlike hedman) and has a lifetime warranty.
Scotty, I just re-read your post and realized you bought yours pre-coated. If so, you gotta send them back to sanderson, if they\'ll cover them - probably not. Jet-hot brand can re-do it for about $130, I think. There\'s a price quote request page on their website. www.jet-hot.com
