Now that I\'ve added the blower mill and the 750 Mighty Demon, I doubt that the stock 2.8L in-tank fuel pump is gonna keep up with a full pass at the drag strip...And I REALLY dont want to find that I leaned-out the hard way!!! My question is this:
Has anyone ran a Walbro 255 in-tank setup with a carb? I\'m thinking the lines, fuel filter, and regulator will work fine, just as the existing setup has for nearly three years, but it never hurts to ask...Also gentlemen, is it easier to pull the bed or drop the tank? Either way is cheaper than replacing melted pistons I figure...http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Walbro 255 in-tank setup
that is a fuel injected pump?? you dont want to use that. the stock 2.8 pump will let you run more then 15psi. and even with that bad ass motor you wont need 15+psi. but you will need a regulator that is boost referenced and has a return port.

Thanks for your reply...
From what I see there is a \"standard\" and \"high pressure\" Walbro 255lph pump...The engine is carbed, the fuel pressure will be regulated down to 6psi anyway, so I was gonna purchase the \"standard\" or lower pressure one, and give it a shot...
Is it easier to drop the tank or pull the bed when changing the pump?

Thanks!
I have heard to do it both ways but have never actually tried either, never hurts to ask!

check the pressure rating on both those pumps. 30psi or more and its going to be hard to regulate the preassure. a camaro for instance needs 45psi on a stock motor. so that gives you an idea on what those pumps are made for. summit has a complete kit for like $200 and something. it comes with a 20psi billet aluminum pump, regulator, fram race style filter, all fittings, and earls ss braided line. it will supply a motor well over 700hp.

I saw this on eBay motors: High Flow Pump (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7937799445 )
Check this out. I talked to the guy at tbichips.com about burning me a chip for my setup, he recommended I install a higher pressure pump like this.

yah but this guy is talking about putting that thing on a carbed engine. that would be ok for a tbi motor i guess. i still think its to much pump for a tbi. tpi, lt1, ls1 all need way more fuel preassure. also the 4.3 vortecs.
