I have a 1990 s10 with a 350 only mods right now are intake and carb. I was wondering if anyone knew the most cost effective way to hook up and transfer weight at the track, thanks

You can pick up a pair of Lakewood 90/10 drag shocks for $40 @ Jegs, or a pair of Moroso trick springs for about $90. Or just blow out the front shocks.. i know a few guys that did that. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Move the motor as far back as possible. Relocate the battery to over, or under bed.

Big ole fatties out back help out too. Get yourself some drag radials, street slicks, or all out racing slicks.

Good drag springs up front to store a lot of energy. Adjustable front/rear drag shocks so when you launch you hit those rear tires hard. Set the fronts shocks for hard compression/soft rebound and the rears just the opposite. That\'s how those 8 sec. cars/trucks get by with 10.5\' slicks. They hit those tires so hard with weight transfer and monster torque they CAN\'T spin. Get that heavy ass battery to the rear too.

drag shocks and springs will work for the launch and about to the 60 foot mark . but to keep the weight from creeping forwards i recommend a set of caltrac bars to maintain the torgue transfer to the rear thru out your entire pass . plus they work well for daily driving just watch forward mount ground clearance they work super on my bothers truck and i\'m putting them on mine to help with my tire spinning into high gear . cal bar keep nose in lifted position during a pass . http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

A set of 90/10s for now will work good, but adjustables would work best. 90/10s might make the front end pop up too quickly then when it settles down a little bit (which it WILL) the rears may unload. Get some good drag springs up front as well.

The rear needs some sort of help, like Yellow mentioned the CalTracs bars or those Slide-a-Links like lightweight\'s got.

Also anything you can do to lighten the truck (expecially in front) will help.

Get rid of all accessories, inner fenders, sway bar and hang a composite front end on it. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I would think there is a tubular A-arm kit and maybe even a tubular front member for these trucks as well. That\'ll drop quite a bit of weight too.

you can buy fiberglass hoods and fenders from this site. hell you can even get the full fiberglass front end

other than that, check the tires you\'re running, regular radials just don\'t cut it, especially if you\'re running stock 15\'s

Street/drag.....how hardcore do you wanna go? Hoosier DOTs or the M/T ET Streets work great, but NOTHING is as good as a full slick, not even those tires.

if you want to loose some weight cut out the hood suports its worth 9 lbs and you can cut parts out of the rad grill support. You can cut some supports out of the fenders buy a fiberglass bumper, but weld a steel bar across behind the glass bumper to protect the front.

Other than move the battery you can put your gass tank in the back. Thats what I am planning on doing. Another thing that I am considing is shortining the front of the bed about 6 inches then moving the cab back to fill in the space. I would extend the fender behind the front wheel to make up for it. Then I would move the motor back the same 6 inches. It would help a lot I think, but I don\'t know if I will do it.
