So I just got done converting from my 4 cyl mounts to the 2.8\'s.....
Let me just say I NEVER WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN! Heh, well it really wasn\'t a pleasant experience but I\'m glad it\'s done. The JTR manual says to either remove the lower A-arm or drill an access hole. Well, I couldn\'t see how removing the lower A-arm would help much and I don\'t know why but my frame did not look like the one in the JTR manual and there was no spot that I could drill a hole for easy access.
So, when all else fails, break out the air cutter! I said screw it and I just cut a triangle on the inside of the crossmember on each side for just enough room for me to reach my finger halfway in and get to the nuts. EVEN with a 2-2.5 inch access hole, it\'s still unbelievably hard to hold the nuts. After awhile of some handy work I finally managed to get them removed and the others on.
I probably missed a really simple way to do it but I got the damn thing done so I\'m satisfied.
Oh and a quick tip: If you decide to do the same thing, be sure to grind the edges on the inside of the hole you cut. I\'ve had 3 people so far ask me if I tried to slit my wrists...and yes it hurts.
