Whats up all

this is a great site. i just recently traded a 91 camaro for a 87 4x4 tpi 350. ive learned a lot in just the short time ive had to look around. my problem is the truck wants to run hot in stop and go traffic but runs fine on the highway. do i need a better radiator. I dont know whats in the truck now but it looks small. thanks in advance. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

not enough air flow, i would start with your fan.

And when you do start looking at what fan it has, make sure you have a shroud on it. It will cool 100% better with a shroud.

Thanks fellas

the fan that is in the truck is one big electric fan with what looks like a home made shroud. I dont know if this makes any differance but the fan blows air through the rad. and the fan dont kick in until 210 degrees and buy then the temp just keeps on rising almost like the fan cant keep up. whats the best setup at the cheapest phttp://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/smileJap.gif. luckly i dont have very much stop and go traffic on my way to work. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

the fan will work better pulling the air through, not pushing it through, you\'ll see in the gallery most of the trucks have there fan inside, because it works better that way. might want to get it to kick on at 180 or so, at 210 it has to do so much more.

if i was you i would get a painless wiring elec fan relay turn on at 180 and put the fan to suck air through the radiator (if possible) and then run some redline water wetter oh ya most electric fans dont need a shroud..unless its one off a car or something that came with one....

also at what temp should the fan kick in at. I tried wiring the fan to come on with the ing. but it seemed to run cooler with the themostat.

would jegs have painless 180 relay and about how much would it cost. Also to get the fan to pull air through will i have to get a new fan.
