Any one have a running 2.8 for sale

Hey, any body have a chevy 2.8l v-6 forsale near N.J.? I\'ve called all the junk yards I can find around me and not one place had one. I will be willing to travel a little if the price is right. I need my daily driver back my s10 is already killing me and its only been a week. Thanks

There is no such thing as a running! well, running proper 2.8. They are garbage, that is why everyone has a 350 in theres now lol!

I gotta admit.. i was impressed when i got my 2.8 truck running. I had never driven a 2.8/t5 truck before, Except driving the spun bearing motor truck off the trailer. I was quite surprised tho, my friend.s 2.8/700 can barely powerbrake. i can launch my truck from a stop sign, And i cna launch so it wont spin the tires, But when i hit second, It spins like a mother, and the rear end kicks sideways, and it will chirp 3rd pretty good. I\'ve gotten a chirp out of 4the once or twice, when i really bang the gears. it\'s just a 2.8 from a firebird.. i think its a 2.8.. could be a 3.1 or 3.4, i\'m not postive, but its fun to drive. I want to get it dyno\'d. My guess is somewhere around 130-150 at the wheels, depending on what motor it is. its totally stock except for cut air cleaner pan, and an LMC cat back. But for the gas mileage i get with it, i would rather do an HO 305, or a 350 for a daily driver.

With my 2.8 that built up pressure in the crank case and popped the dipstick, I got 12 mpg with it, my 350 can be driven hard and get 15 mpg.

yeah, i think i get around 12mpg. But i have an exhaust leak at the head on one side, and at the manifold collector on the other. its a really bad leak too. its loud as hell. you can get 20mpg wih a 305. My buddy got around 20-22mpg in his 305 silverado.

I found a 3.1 yesterday and its not so easy to just throw a 350 into an isuzu trooper that is 4wd. Despite what anyone says my 2.8 did just fine although I would never have one in my s10. I was getting 22 mpg with 33\" superswampers all the way up to the time my piston exploded at 154000 hard miles.

I live in Southern Md and might have a bead on a 2.8 that has some miles on it. I have a 85 4x4 blazer that I am parting out and the Motor runs now it did smoke a little on startup but it ran real good. It is carburated and it was my wifes so it wasn\'t dogged...has typical rear main drip..if you are interested pm me Ill go easy on ya!!!
