I am getting one for free.I don\'t know anything about it besides that it is a 3/4ton 12 bolt out of a 1979 pickup. What do you guys think. Is it worth shorting? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

From what I have been told, truck rear ends are heavier than passenger car rears. Just my 2 cents. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I would have to agree. Too heavy and you would have to have the axles redrilled for the

correct bolt pattern to match the fronts.

Take it and sell it. Put the money towards

a 9\" or a good posi for your S-10 rear end.

Again...just my opion.

I was looking at the rear end today.I think it might be a 14 bolt 1 ton rear end.It is a full floading rear end.I think that might be to big. What do you think. Also if I get a 12 bolt how can I get disc brakes on it or can I still get it shorten and use stock drums if it has them.

Are you just looking for a rear end? If so I\'m gonna have a spare one pretty soon that I\'d be looking to get rid of. Don\'t know if you\'re in a rush for it or not......that\'s even if you\'re close enough for it to be worth you getting.
