anybody know any ways to get a TBI computer not to run lean.. i have read the the computer will go from rich to lean.. well mine is mainly stoich to lean.. will cranking fuel presure up help this? i have 65# injectors but last i ran them i didnt have a air/fuel ratio gauge but ya could smell the gas in the air.

anybody have any tricks for this?

Adjustable MAP sensor from Turbo City. Worked perfectly for me. Mine used to burn extremely rich from the low vac from my cam, this completely solved the problem. I also had a adjustable pressure regulator, which did nothing for driveability and very little for performance, it did gain some up top.

so that MAP sensor will help with it running lean.. its not constantly running lean.. it bounces back and forth.. should i be concerned to not drive the truck.. i mean i have already driven it probably 5k miles already no problems soo far...

with fuel injection it is supposed to bounce back and forth.. That is what the oxygen sensor does.. it measures how rich or lean the exhaust is and tell the computer to adjust for any changes, ex: acceleration, engine temp, cruising, etc. If your engine is running lean and the o2 waveform is flatlining mostly you should check your fuel filter and possibly change the o2 sensor.. they tend to go bad around 100,000 or so.. some last longer and some don\'t, if you get one try to make sure it is bosch brand, they are factory sensors, or go to Carquest and get one in a gold box-- if it is a one wire o2 ask for a SG-5 o2 sensor.. install it, disconnect your battery for 5 min, reconnect it and start it up.. go dive it for awhile.. it will take about 30 miles to readjust the computer to your driving.. but check the fuel filter! gm filters plug up bad and will fry your pump!

The voltage should vary, but it shouldnt go from burn your eyes rich to stumbling lean, it should stay in the 14-1 range or so. You should read your map sensor voltage, it should be around 1.5, give or take, at idle. I think 1.2-1.5 is aceptable, higher is richer.

you could put a coolant temp sensor not on the engine so it would read cold all the time. that would richen it up. may be to rich. lol

yeah when i mentioned something about smelling the fuel in the air was with the 65# fuel injectors.. but i think they need to get cleaned.. i run 93 octane in the truck too.. dont know if that helps or not..

she dont run hot or anything like that unless im sitting in traffic for a long period of time. wich is just cause i only have one pusher fan right now.. seems to have all kinds of power too.. well thanks for the input guys.. just wanted to make sure im not going to burn the engine up with it running lean from time to time

but def going to switch out the fuel filter.. probalby will help out havent changed it since 99 to be honest.. about 80k miles ago..

well i have some good news..

i got it to burn better then lean.. so now its burning one green bar into rich..

was tricky.. i think the soleniods for the injectors were stuck for a while cause at first the fuel would just trickle out then eventualy one started to fire.. but it was like it was at WOT or something cause it was just sprayin a lot of fuel..then the other started to tinkle more fuel then eventually did what the other one did.. and now they seem to work fine. i ran to autozone and bought some fuel injector cleaner and put the hole bottle in a half tank of gas.. so its super concentrated..

you guys think i should change the oil after the injectors throwing so much fuel into the engine.. wasnt for long but im sure it only takes a little and the oil is pretty much junk.
