What do you fella\'s think about putting a fuel cell in the bed along with the battery and getting rid of the original fuel tank. Good idea or bad idea? I was just wondering. Thought it might be good to have a little weight in the rear along with a good clean tank. thanks http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Sounds like a plan! especially the battery because the weight relocation is so extreme, very front to the very rear. The right rear is the ideal place for weight transfer.
...... I\'ve still got my stock tank, (\'82) and pulled it a few years ago to put a sump in it, and was totally surprised, the tank looked like new inside. Besides the weight advantage of removing the tank and addiing a fuel cell at the tailgate is the room gained underneath, which will allow you to run the exhuast down both sides instead of crossing over if so desired.

I plan on doing it before my 94\'s on the road. Mounting it down, under the bed also. Just fabbing up some mounting rails for it.

I did that with my 94. There are pictures of it in my photos if you want to see it.

I DID IT FOR THA SAME REASONS - WEIGHT X-FER/ CLEANER UNDERHOOD / ABILITY TO RUN DUALS DOWN BOTH SIDES / NEWTANK PLUS ITS EASY!
I\'m doing mine once the weather breaks batt behind right tire cell in the middle nitrous bottle behind left wheel.

Plan it out with the tank. You have a cross member where the tank may go.

Curious, anyone ever run cell AND the stock tank? That is, one for hi-octane, the other for race gas, with a valve to switch \'em over?

I thought about that when I started, but I don\'t think you wuould want to do that for a couple reasons. The first is additional weight and the second is that higher octane gas is only a benefit to those engines that need it.

Yeah, obviously I\'ve thought about that too... but as you mentioned, first I\'d need an engine that would require 100 octane! Hmmmm..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
