I am sure this has been posted before, but when did Chevy switch from the 7 1/2 to the 7 5/8.



also, can i use the carrier and axles out of a 5/8 in a 1/2 housing?



See what i did was weld the spider gears (dumb) and i have a 92 spare axle. but i don\'t (can\'t) change the complete axles. HELP! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

umm, yeah, my bad.

I am just about certain that the 7 5/8 carrier will bolt right into the other housing. I could be wrong though.

If you used the 7-5/8\" case you would need the 28 spline axles.
