I have a 1987 s1- blazer 4x4.

I was trying to adjust the torsion bars when the head of the bolt broke off. so in order to fix it i think i need to take the whole crossmember down. But how do i get it off the truck i cant seem to figure out how the torsion bars come out from the cross member. Anyone got some ideas?

NO.... dont take the crossmember down

if you look close the bolt that adjust the tortion bar height goes into a small \"nut\" about 1in by 3in rectangle nut. the end of the bolt then pushes up on a piece of steel that the tortion bar goes into. on this piece of steel there is a small divid hole if you will. there is a spacial tool to release the pressure of the tortion bar off of the \"bolt and nut\" you can use a c-clamp to do this also if you move the pivit piece of steel you should be able to remove the broken parts and replace with a new bolt and \"nut\" contact me if i need to explane better
