Every time i go to start my truck the battery is dead. After i jump it it will start fine and the gauge always reads 14amps, but if i let it sit it will have a dead battery. I\'m thinking that the starter is draining it, because i think the alternator is working fine, i can have it running and disconnect the battery and it will stay running. The thing is the original harness is is still there, i just tucked it up out of view. Is there anything that has constant power to it even when turned off, besides the starter. Something is draining my battery, anybody have a suggestion for me to check?

do you have an electric choke? you could have it hooke dup to the constant power instead of acc... just a suggestion... i\'ve seen it done before

I took the chock off, but i have the electric fuel pump hooked to the ACC in the fuse box, it only comes on with power, so thats not it.

sounds like a just plain bad battery to me. to check if you have a parisitic drain\"drain from batery with everything off\" disconnect the negitive battery terminal then use a amp tester and put it in inline of the battery cable and see how much apmrage you have the spec of allowable drain depends on your battery size but some where around 3 milli amps. i would try a known good battery or have yours tested first though.most parts stores or even hardware stores(sears) should have a cheap amp tester or multimeter you could get if you dont have one.
